Message from NOSA

Nunsec Old Students Association - Nosa Webpage

Over the years, the Nungua Senior High School has silently and without fanfare churned out champions who have been contributing their quota towards the development of our great nation and it is the avowed mission of our association to change the status quo and set the name of the school amongst the great educational institution of the nation.

Nunsec did not only teach us how to read and write but how to take challenges of life and transform them into implements of victory. In every sector of human endeavor and development there is an old student of this school selflessly working for the good of out nation and we believe the time has come for the school to be noticed for its many positive contributions.

Our motto “per ardua ad alta” simply means ‘through difficulties to the heights’. So, by implication, through much struggle we reach the stars.

This does not mean that we should forever struggle. Over the years we have overcome many difficulties and many challenges. Now is the time for the Nungua Senior High School to reach the stars and we shall surely hit the heights above. We the current Executives of NOSA are determined to do all we can for this to happen.

We wish to congratulate the Headmistress and all the great men and women who in spite of many challenges continue to help shape the destinies of the young men and women put in their charge. We also recognize the efforts of the auxiliary staff members of the school for their sacrifices and say ‘ayekoo’ and thank you.

To the student body we wish to say that “If we have known then what we now know, many of us would have been better students during our time”. Discipline always bears sweet fruit of righteousness but discipline itself is very bitter. So hold on to discipline, do not let it go; guard it well, for it is your life.

My advice therefore is, do not give up, strengthen your hands and feet for there are good things ahead of you.

Clubs

HOSA Club

AIM: To create enabling environment for students to discover and improve upon their talents through sports, games, fashion, playing of musical instruments etc. The club is open for students between 14-25 years across 156 countries. The founding father of HOSA is the King of Edinburgh.

ACHIEVEMENTS: In 2019, six (6) NUNSEC students won the Gold Award which was held at the forecourt of Jubilee house. The awards were presented by the president Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo.

Zoom Ambassadors Club

The aim of Zoom Ambassadors Club is to educate students to maintain proper environmental sanitation in schools and the immediate communities where the club schools are located.

Achievement: The club has taken part in World Sanitation Day, World Water Day, World Health Day and World Hand Washing Day. Placed metal stands at vantage places on campus for the segregations of plastic and other waste.

National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) Club

Aim: To prepare science students adequately National Science and Maths Quiz Competition well as WASSCE.

Achievement: The school qualified for the National Championship held at KNUST campus but exited at the quarter final stage.

Some students that represented the school are Master Japhat Bortey Bortier, Miss Janice Mensah, Miss Laurencia Tenkoramah, among others

Drama Club

Aim: To identify new talents and improve upon their skills in acting, poetry recital, dancing, and visual Artistic Works.

Achievement: The club has won few awards in Broadway Dramafest, Sankofa Dramafest and other national drama contests. In March 2023, NUNSEC won the 3rd prize in Sankofa SHS drama competition.

Cadet Corp

The Cadet Corp is a ...........

Beautification and Sanitation Club

To help in tree planting and maintain proper sanitation.

ACHIEVEMENT: The club has planted more trees and flowers for both science practical and beautification purposes. Regularly pruning and trimming of hedges in the school.
